V Bozeman rocks runway
RECORDING artiste actress V Bozeman brought the house down at the first of three Caribbean FashionWeek’s (CFW) signature event held at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew on Friday.
Bozeman, who plays Veronica in the American hit television series Empire, was dressed in a sexy, close-fitting black dress, and rocked a fiercely shaved hairdo.
The singer started her three-song set by powerfully churning out the lyrics to Race Jones.
Confidently walking the catwalk, Bozeman interacted with her fans then diverted into her second single, a rendition of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy.
Bozeman ignited her audience and had them hanging on to her every word throughout her set.
She reached the peak of her performance when she belted the crowd’s favourite What is Love.
In the opening scene of Empire, Bozeman delivers a heart-wrenching performance of What is Love, which captivated viewers. That performance earned the second-highest downloaded song from the Empire soundtrack.
And her CFW’s performance was just as compelling.
Ahead and after the live performance, over 10 designers showcased their creations on CFW’s runway, which included handbags, footwear, and accessories.
Among the evening’s designers were St Lucia’s Fiona Compton, Tobago’s Kamille Kah, Jamaica’s Amelia Margandy, and Juliet Bernard from Tobago.
CFW’s live performances concluded last night with Trinidad and Tobago-born British singer Billy Ocean.
Now in its 15th year, CFW is the brainchild of Pulse’s CEO Kingsley Cooper. The event is aimed at presenting works by the region’s emerging and best designers, models and players who have helped put Caribbean fashion on the global stage.
