Candy crazed! Yes, that just about describes our mood even days after our visit to the jaw-dropping candy store – Candy Craze. As promised, here is our comprehensive thoughts on the establishment.
The store has a very modern feel, candies of different varieties; size, shape, texture and taste, line the walls or sit in neat packages on the store shelves. Your senses are engaged as you step through the door; your ears are greeted by the sound of cheerful Candy Craze staff, your eyes widen at the sight of possibly more candy than you’ve ever seen in one place, and your taste buds salivate, preparing themselves for the onslaught of flavour to come.teenAGE with all the information we needed. If you’re wondering if the prices are out of your budget, don’t worry. The candies cost 70 and 90 JMD+tax per ounce. You can get the Crazy (single scoop), Wild (double scoop), Insane (triple scoop) or Ridiculous (2 lbs) serving of delicious ice cream for prices ranging from 350 to 1115 JMD+tax. Candy Craze even boasts a cold stone slab where you can get any topping you want mixed into your ice cream while it’s kept cold. And all toppings available can even be put into a milkshake or malt if you so desire. For the lactose intolerant, Candy Craze offers sorbets that you can also add your favourite toppings to. Deidre also informed us that they do catering for all parties, personalised candy packages, cakes and they even offer sugar-free candy.Candy Craze, Melanie Levy, who told us what inspired her to open a candy store; “My love for candy and for sweets. Abroad I loved going to the different candy stores and having the ability to mix and match. When you come to a candy store you feel happy, all that colour. If you’re having a bad day and you walk into a candy store, it’s supposed to brighten up your day. Everyone can enjoy it (candy). Where else can you go where the staff sings and dances for you? Candy Craze is all about creating that one of a kind, amazing, high energy experience.” We also asked her if there were plans to expand the Candy Craze brand, and she responded positively while not revealing too much about her plans. Hmm? Makes us wonder if we should be keeping our eyes open for a surprise second opening soon.
