Connections of Seeking My Dream lodge formal appeal
The connections of Seeking My Dream, who finished second in Saturday’s Jamaica St Leger, have formally lodged an appeal against the decision of the Jamaica Racing Commission’s (JRC) Raceday Stewards not to disqualify winner Superluminal.
Superluminal withstood an inquiry immediately after the race posted by the stewards and also an objection from the rider of Seeking My Dream, Omar Walker, who claimed his horse was interfered with during the final two furlongs of the 10-furlong event.
After a lengthy period of consideration, the stewards threw out the objection by Walker and allowed the placings to stand; Superluminal first, Seeking My Dream second and Southern Cruise third.
According to the Rules of Racing, the appeal will now be heard by the board of Commisioners of the JRC.
Seeking My Dream is owned by Member of Parliament Derrick Smith. and is trained by champion trainer Wayne DaCosta.
