Ahoy Venezuela!
The Venezuelan naval training boat, the Buque Escuela Simon Bolivar dropped anchor Sunday last, July 5 at the Montego Bay cruise ship pier. Mayor of Montego Bay Glendon Harris and Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Jamaica Maria Jacqueline Mendoza Ortega were among the guests hosted by the vessel’s commander, Captain, Captain Gines Enrique Ananguren Santana for Venezuela Day. The ship’s call was part of the activities commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Jamaica and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Other specially invited guests included members of the diplomatic corps as well as those from the Second City’s business community. Indeed diplomatic relations could well have been the evening’s theme for the evening. Wednesday Business shares highlights of the fabulous event.
