HECOIN grad heads to T&T
HEALTH, Education and Counselling Institute (HECOIN) is celebrating the offer of employment for a recent graduate of its geriatric nursing diploma programme.
The institution has announced that Arlene Burke, who completed her diploma in May, has been offered a full-time job in Trinidad, effective the end of this month.
Burke has previous training and experience as a teacher and guidance counsellor. She scored a distinction in both theory and practical aspects of the geriatric nursing exam, and maintained a “B” average throughout the course, the school said.
She is the fourth member of the recent graduating cohort to have secured employment overseas.
“Three graduates were recently employed in Canada as care givers and a fourth one is to depart in coming weeks,” a statement from the institution said.
For her part, Burke called HECOIN’s delivery in nursing excellent and praised the institution for the quality of the programme both in theoretical and practical terms.
She said, too, that she was employed on the basis that the employer was fully aware of the high standards of HECOIN and its reputation globally.
Burke informed that when she settles in Trinidad she will be lobbying for more HECOIN graduates to work and live in T&T.
