Hottraxx

A compilation of this week’s hottest songs

Salute teenATION and music lovers everywhere, it’s time again for your weekly top 10 local and international music top up in this week’s Hottraxx. But before we get into the meat of the matter, just want to send a big shout and congratulations to all CAPE students who received their results last Sunday. TeenAGE is of course very proud of all our teenAGErs who continue to do well academically and also very special shout outs to all CSEC students that will be receiving their results today, As I said last week just breathe and relax, there’s nothing more you can do at this point and remember to be proud of  yourselves whatever the outcome maybe.

So to the matter at hand, as always teenAGE has got you covered with the best local and international songs running the streets and ruling the airwaves in this week’s Hottraxx. Now the lists:Local List

1 Stop Follow Me Up– Vybz Kartel- Holding on to the #1 spot this week is the ‘Worl Boss’, Vybz Kartel with Stop Follow Me Up. The controversial artiste is again sparking major conversations with videos and pictures surfacing on social media of him allegedly leaving prison and being admitted to hospital. No word as to whether or not the images are real, but as always we will be keeping our eyes and ears open for this one.2 Ghetto Life– I Octane- I Octane has moved into the second place spot this week with another one of his conscious hits Ghetto Life. The song produced by Jones Avenue Records and on the Suga Riddim is the most recent commentary on the struggles of the underprivileged against a system that seeks to destroy them. Kudos to Octane who continues to enlighten and uplift with his craft.3 We A Rave– Dexta Daps- Slipping into the third place spot this week is Dexta Daps with We A Rave. The summer song has been doing very well this summer so far and is a favourite on many playlists.4 Up– Alkaline- Staying way up on our list this week is Alkaline with Up. The song speaks of the dream relationship where you and your girl have your money on lock, and as well all know money solves all problems.5 Nuh Man To Mi Spliff– Aidonia- Rounding out our top five for the local chart this week is Aidonia with Nuh Man To Mi Spliff.6 Party– Vybz Kartel7 Money Plan– Konshens8 My League– Movado9 Sometimes– Vybz Kartel10 Answer Me– Masicka ft IshawnaInternational List1 Drag Me Down– One Direction- Making their debut on the international list at #1 this week is boy band sensation One Direction. The recently released single has 1D fans everywhere going crazy and has climbed to the top of several music charts all over the world. The song has also given a sense of ease to the fans, as questions were raised as to what would happen to the quality of the band’s music since the exit of former band member Zane Malik. The new single has gotten a lot of heavy support, with many fans even shedding tears of joy over its release. 2 Wildest Dreams– Taylor Swift- In the second place position this week is Taylor Swift. The song has ‘Swifties’ everywhere going mad as usual but upon further investigation of the lyrics I think Tay Tay might be giving people a little heads up to trouble in paradise. Looking at the lyrics; ‘Nothing lasts forever’, ‘He’s so tall and Handsome as Hell’ and “He’s so bad’, they all seems like pretty good description of her tall boyfriend Calvin Harris, who is known to have a bad boy demeanour. 3 Back To Back– Drake- Moving into third place this week is Drake with Back To Back, The drama between him and Meek Mill seems to have blown over, or at least they’ve called a momentary cease fire on the throwing off shade. I wonder if Nicki had to step in and say something?…Hmm questions questions.4 Energy– Drake- In the fourth place spot this week is Drizzy again with Energy. Drake has the most singles on the international list this week.5 Cheerleader (Remix)– Omi- Rounding out our top five this week is Omi with Cheerleader (Remix).6 How Deep is Your Love– Calvin Harris7 679– Fetty Wap ft Remy Boyz8 Charged Up– Drake9 Good For You– Selena Gomez10 Cool For the Summer– Demi Lovato
