PNP ‘following back a mi’ in panic – Holness
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Opposition Leader Andrew Holness says he will tour every village in Jamaica as part of his ‘Poverty to Prosperity’ campaign.
He made the comments this week as he announced his upcoming Clarendon tour schedule. The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader said that the People’s National Party (PNP) is in election mode, but it seems to be more like panic mode as they are following in his track and making a flurry of promises.
Holness said he toured several communities in St Thomas, all having major public safety hazards that were neglected for years.
“If I didn’t tour those areas and highlighted the serious dangers, the PNP wouldn’t all of sudden come to fix the Pear Tree River bridge which was falling down for the last four years and the major break away on Lyssons road which went unattended for the last 6 months” he said.
The party leader added that “since it is election time and the PNP is ‘following back a mi’ in panic, I am going to visit every neglected village in Jamaica so that their roads, bridges and water can get attention.”
He pointed out that it is only during the election period that the PNP pays any attention to the people’s needs.
The JLP tours are designed to spread the message that the Jamaica Labour Party will bring prosperity and development to communities and to individuals by growing the economy of Jamaica.
