Injury forces Bailey-Cole out of World Champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Commonwealth Games 100m champion Kemar Bailey-Cole will miss the World Championships after reportedly tearing his hamstring in training, an impeccable source told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Bailey-Cole, who finished third at the Senior National Championships behind Asafa Powell and Nickel Ashmeade, will be replaced by Nesta Carter in the individual 100m.
It’s a big blow for Bailey-Cole and more significantly Jamaica’s 4x100m relay squad.
Carter, the 2013 World Championship 100m bronze medallist, will join defending champion Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Nickel Ashmeade in the blue riband 100m event.
