Weekly Round-Up: Canadian teen shot dead…JCF troubles continue…Boyz take on Nicaragua
KINGSTON, Jamaica — It was another rough week for the Jamaica Constabulary Force as several of its members continue to find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
Chief among the Force’s troubles is an incident in which a member allegedly attempted to break in to a Clarendon home early Monday. Residents held him and administered a beating before handing him over to his colleagues.
At the same time, the country attracted fresh criticisms after a Canadian boy was shot dead at a wake in St Andrew. The 14-year-old’s death was headline news for several Canadian media houses, once again putting the country’s crime problem under the spotlight.
Jamaicans will have much to smile about if the Reggae Boyz defeat Central Americans Nicaragua in their opening World Cup qualifier at the National Stadium Friday. The Boyz recently moved up the FIFA list to 52 and currently sit atop Caribbean Football Union.
