Biden says he’s unsure he can commit fully to be president
NEW YORK (AP) — United States Vice-President Joe Biden says he’d be lying if he said he knew he could commit himself fully to be president.
Biden spoke in an interview Thursday with “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”. He says he doesn’t think anybody should run for president unless he can promise to dedicate his entire heart, soul, energy and passion to the job.
The vice president’s son, Beau Biden, died of brain cancer in May. Biden says it sometimes overwhelms him and describes a recent incident during a visit to a military base in which he broke down emotionally after someone brought up his son’s military service.
Biden says “you can’t do that” while running for president.
