Palmer’s century highlights day one of Ja trial
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Left-hander Paul Palmer hit a century on the opening day of Jamaica’s two-day cricket trial match between John Campbell’s XI and Paul Palmer’s XI at Sabina Park on Thursday.
Palmer made a patient 117 not out in his team’s 277-8.
Score: Palmer’s XI 277-8 (101 overs); Campbell’s XI.
He shared in a third-wicket partnership of 149 runs with Brandon King, who made 80.
Left-arm spinner Coi Thompson took 4-57 off 21 overs.
Play resumes on Friday.
The trial match will aid in squad selection for the second season of the Professional Cricket League four-day competition, set to begin in November.
