Hair’s What’s Hot!

Your Under the Dryer trend spotters were on the lookout for hair and beauty trends at the Jamaica Observer Takes Style Out Launch event held in the Valencia Meeting Room at the Spanish Court Hotel on Wednesday. A few of the ladies shared their beauty secrets, find out how you can get the look.

Marketing Consultant Shelly Curran credits sought-after hairstylist Lisa Hutchinson for her edgy side-swept bob. Curran recommends the OXX System hair products to keep her mane in check.

Fashion designer Toya Taylor styled her Bohemian-chic ‘do herself with products from curlysexyhair and Shea Moisture lines, adding that the Lottabody Moisturize Me Curl & Style Milk is her favourite moisturizer.

Fashion blogger and merchandiser Kristia Franklin is no stranger to the push wave style. This time around, Franklin upped the edge factor with a curly Mohawk.

As models usually do, these Saint International models Kimberlee Gordon and Shantelle Fitten both styled their hair using Cantu Shea Butter Daily Oil Moisturizer. In addition Gordon’s top knot is kept sleek with Olive Oil Edge Control, while Fitten uses the Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel for a smooth sweep.

Global Directories Communications Manager Tshani Jaja is giving us rocker-chic with this pomp and ponytail ‘do, check out the low fades on the sides.

When Wedding Dreams presenter and TV Personality Alexia Moser enters the room, it’s “All eyes on me!” from head to toe, so we could not overlook her. She told Under The Dryer that she began styling, trimming, and curling her hair since her former hairstylist Carolene Dennis migrated, she even does her own make-up using Iman cosmetics. To get the job done, she uses the Keracare Finishing Spray (Medium Hold) and the Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Oil Shine and Hold Mist for daily upkeep. After a wash and dry, Moser applies a few squirts of the Cantu Shea Butter Super Shine Hair Silk.

Anna-Kay Bromfield, MICO University Guidance Counselling major keeps her braids — done by new kid on the block hairstlyist Billi-Jean Francis fresh and moist with the Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Oil Shine and Hold Mist

Footwear curator/saleswoman Sue-Ann Lee gets her weekly touch up at Shop #23 Central Plaza by @sherickahairstylist. Lee wanted an edgy ‘do that transitions from the Summer heat to the Winter chills. For daily upkeep, she re-twists with a little Agadir Argan Oil and wraps her hair with a silk bonnet before bed.
