PM congratulates C’bean Hotelier of the Year Adam Stewart
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has congratulated Jamaican hotelier and Chief Executive Officer of Sandals Resort International, Adam Stewart on being awarded the Caribbean’s top hotel and resort accolade – the ‘Caribbean Hotelier of the Year’ award.
The prime minister said in a statement a short while ago that the recognition by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association is recognition of Adam Stewart’s extraordinary leadership and his continued transformation of the Sandals brand.
“I join in congratulating Adam Steward for his vision, bold yet caring leadership and his pre-occupation with excellence in service. He continues to be a transformational leader in the Jamaican and Caribbean business community,” Simpson Miller said.
She noted the major expansion of Sandals Resort under his leadership, including a recent additional investment of some US$150 million in expansion and improvements to the resort chain’s operations in Jamaica.
“Adam Stewart is deserving of this prestigious award, which is an admirable tribute to his pre-eminent standing in the regional and international hotel trade. All Jamaica is proud of his achievement,” she added.
