TIVOLI ENQUIRY: Resident says lawmen killed man of unsound mind
KINGSTON, Jamaica – A senior Tivoli Gardens resident this morning testified in the Tivoli Enquiry that members of the security forces killed a young man, who is of unsound mind, in his house on May 24, 2010.
He said that two days later when he was cleaning his house he found brain matter, teeth and spent shells.
The witness, Lancelot Bailey, also testified that a bedroom in the house and the bathroom was splattered with blood.
He said the young man who was killed is DeCory Wright. Bailey said he gave Wright the keys to his house and told him to stay inside after he saw him on the corridor of the high rise building.
Bailey said he was on the third floor of the building when Wright was killed. He said two soldiers brought the body down in a sheet from his house.
