WALKER CUP: Wolmer’s defeat JC 4-3 on penalties

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica College (JC) and Wolmer’s Boys’ were deadlock after 90 minutes of play at the Constant Spring Stadium in the opening quarter-final match in the 2015 FLOW/ISSA Walker Cup Competition on Wednesday.

Jamaica College came close to clinching a victory in the 87th minute when substitute Khori Edmond breached the Wolmer’s defence on the counter. He however failed to capitalise on the chance and fired wide of the far post.

Extra-time saw JC dominating the game, coming close to scoring on several occasions, however, they were unable to break the indomitable Wolmerian defence leaving the score at nil all after 120 minutes of play.

Having both advanced via penalties in their respective quarter-finals, it was déjà vu for both teams as once again the fate of the match was to be determined by a penalty shoot-out.

Wolmer’s won 4-3 on penalties and will face the victors in the St George’s and St Jago match-up for the title of 2015 Walker Cup Champions.
