Senate delayed
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Senate convened at 11.05 today, more than one hour after its scheduled 10 am start.
This was apparently due to the absence Opposition senators.
The Jamaica Observer had reported today that it is unlikely that Opposition senators would resume sitting until the suspension of Senator Marlene Malahoo Forte is withdrawn.
Leader of Opposition Business, Senator Tom Tavares Finson told the Observer last night that the Opposition would be staying away until the suspension is withdrawn.
The Opposition Senators were still absent at the start.
