Christmas day dispute turns deadly, cop arrested
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Thirty-three-year-old businesswoman Terry Ann Steer of Waterside Place, Bogue Village, St James, is dead and her common-law husband — a police officer — is in police custody.
She was shot dead yesterday, allegedly by the policeman.
Reports from the Freeport Police Station are that about 7:00 pm, Steer and her common-law husband had a dispute that got physical.
During the altercation, Steer was shot after she allegedly attacked the man with an object.
The police say she was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The police officer has since been arrested, however, the police say his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
