Cops arrest 4, seize 2 guns in St James on Christmas Day
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The police in St James seized two firearms and arrested four men in Barrett Town, St James, yesterday.
Reports are that about 8:30 pm, police were on mobile patrol in Barrett Hill, Barrett Town, when they encountered a group of men who allegedly pointed a firearm at them.
Three of the men were held and a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eight rounds of ammunition seized.
Following that incident, another police team on mobile patrol in the Pearl Hill area of Barrett Town stopped and searched a man after he aroused their suspicion. One 9mm Lorcin pistol with a magazine containing seven 9mm cartridges was reportedly taken from him.
The police say preliminary investigations revealed that he had eluded the police in the Barrett Hill incident.
The four men have been arrested; however, the police say their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
