Joan Jackson-Cope (second right), principal of the Merlene Ottey High School in Hanover â named in honour of one of Jamaica's most celebrated and decorated athletes â cuts the ribbon as she accepts two 1000-gallon tanks donated by the National Water Commission to the school recently. Sharing in the moment are: NWC Acting Community Relations Manager Teisha-Ann Pinnock (fifth left) and students of the school. As part of the donation, the utility company also carried out the necessary connections to facilitate the immediate use of the tanks. According to Pinnock, the school's supply of water will be further boosted on completion of the roughly $271-million Cascade/Claremont/Jericho Water Supply project next year.
