UPDATE: RJR shareholders vote yes to merger
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Shareholders of the RJR Communication Group have accepted the arrangement for the proposed merger between the company and the Gleaner Media Business.Read: Gleaner shareholders vote yes to merger
Chairman of the RJR Group Lester Spaulding announced that 95.8 per cent of shareholders have voted for the merger. Earlier, 84 per cent of Gleaner shareholders voted in favour of the motion.
The shareholders of both entities are scheduled to vote on the resolutions to incorporate some of the agreements of the amalgamation in the Gleaner’s and RJR’s Articles of Incorporation next Thursday.
The proposed amalgamation was concurrently held at the Wolmer’s Boys’ School and Wolmer’s Girls’ earlier today.
