2015: A rear-view glance
“IT was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” Jamaica’s automotive sector featured prominently among the year’s newscasts. It was a year when several dealerships changed hands, there was also the entry of a new player — Dominican Republic’s Magna Motors Dealership — in the local market, and the inaugural visit of Takuji Yamada, CEO of American Honda Motor Company.
There was also the loss of Stewart’s Automotive Group’s patriarch, Richard Stewart; race-car driver Daryl King; and 372 of our island’s road users. The shutters were pulled on 17 service stations for distributing contaminated fuel.
Buckle up! As we give you the year that was.
