Farmer, fisherman arrested in St Ann with J$2.3m worth of cocaine
ST ANN, Jamaica — The Narcotics Police seized a quantity of cocaine on the Priory main road in St Ann on Thursday, December 31.
Two men were arrested and charged for possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, and trafficking cocaine.
They are: 49-year-old farmer Devon Lawson of Beaston Spring district in Westmoreland, and 35-year-old fisherman Rohan Adamson of Grange district, also in Westmoreland.
Reports are that about 7:00 pm, the driver of a Toyota Caldina motor car with the men aboard was signalled to stop.
The motor vehicle was searched and 2.1 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of US$19,000 or J$2.3 million was seized.
Lawson and Adamson are scheduled to appear in the St Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, January 7.
