Three 2016 sporting events that you can’t afford to miss
Hey guys, 2016 will be such an exciting year for all things sports and we have a list of three sport events that you can’t afford to miss this year.
1. The 2016 Summer Olympics – Hands down this is the most exciting event planned for 2016. The 2016 Summer Olympics will be held in Rio De Janiero, Brazil from August 5th to 21st. We are so glad it is finally 2016, and after waiting four years we can watch our favourite athletes in action. The best thing about the Olympics is that it caters to almost all sports fans. There is of course track and field, gymnastics, football, tennis, swimming and even walking. For us as Jamaicans, the 2016 Summer Olympics mean that we can watch our talented athletes go and strive for gold in a plethora of events. Who would want to miss Alia Atkinson splashing to swimming glory, the fastest man and fastest woman in the world running to retain their titles and of course our hard working hurdlers, long distance racers and our athletes that do field events trying to make their name and make us proud. Sufficed to say, you cannot miss Usain Bolt’s probable last Olympics. Are you excited yet?
2. ISSA Boys and Girls Athletic Championships(Champs) – Yes we’re aware that this is an annual event, however, this year promises to be so exciting. Why? Because we will witness super-talented high school athletes go to the national stadium to bring glory to their school , that’s why. Talents such as Akeem Bloomfield, Christopher Taylor and a plethora of other talented athletes will return to the track (or field) to once again silence critics and showcase just how hard they have worked in the months leading up to the Championships. The five day event is supposed to be from March 15-19 at the National Stadium.
– Most football fans would have been following the Euro qualifiers and is now super excited to watch them fight for the title ‘Champions of Europe’. This year, the Euros will be held in France from June 10th to July 10th. Why should you be excited? Well the best football teams in Europe are meeting and only one can come out on top. Euros promises to have amazing matches, amazing misses, nifty goals and skillful passes. If you are a football fan don’t end up like the Netherlands and miss the Euros, tune in!
3. UEFA European Championships (Euros)
