IBEX Global to open BPO operation in Kingston
Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm IBEX Global relocated a part of its operations in India to Jamaica in 2015, with plans announced to expand centres in Kingston to three by April 2016. The company also expanded to near shore Nicaragua during the period.
IBEX Global which offers what it describes as an integrated service said the move to Jamaica and Nicaragua was part of its strategy for global growth when interviewed by Nearshore Americas.
At the end of its 2015 financial year (end of June), IBEX Global’s revenues stood at US$230m, a jump of 30 per cent from the previous period, the company indicates in a release on its website.
Headquartered in Washington, it says it delivers “onshore, near shore and offshore solutions” in five countries, across 18 call centres employing more than 15,000 customer service professionals.
The company told Nearshore Americas that it will house three centres on a 1.7 acre campus in Jamaica with the first openings slated for the October 2015 to April 2016 period.
They will each house 650 to 800 agents Nearshore said, noting that the plan for the three-centre campus-style Kingston location will have “shared common areas including a day-care centre and festival area which will play host to different caterers cooking world foods.”
Several requests by the Jamaica Observer to Ibex for the exact address in Kingston were not answered.
New CEO Bob Dechant told Nearshore that Jamaica is the third largest English-speaking population in the Western hemisphere. “You can really scale a lot of English for your clients that are looking to balance their portfolios of nearshore, onshore and offshore. It offers high-volume English play,” Dechant added.
Ibex said in another news release that it is planning to include value-added services including data management and analytics.
