Where does Pep Guardiola want to manage next?
After announcing last month that he will not renew his contract with Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola has today revealed that when he leaves the club this summer he would like to have the opportunity to manage in the Premier League.
“I want to manage in the Premier League” the Spanish coach said “That is why I have not prolonged my contract.”
The former Barcelona coach has, for the past three months, been linked with several big name English teams such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, but reports suggest that he is close to agreeing terms with Manchester City. However, nothing has been confirmed as yet.
Pep insists that he needs a new challenge and that right now feels like it is the right time to experience what it’s like to manage in the English Premier League, “Three years are enough. I am not comfortable with staying at one club for 30 years. I want new restaurants, a new city, a new challenge.”
