Men allegedly held with housebreaking tools
THREE men who were allegedly caught attempting to break into a warehouse in downtown Kingston have been charged with possession of housebreaking implements.
Eighteen-year-old Kwame Williams, Harold Brown and Kimo Shaw, both 22, were allegedly busted at 10:30 pm on December 22 while attempting to break into the warehouse on Mark Lane with a steel cutter and a hammer.
The men were subsequently arrested and charged.
All three were remanded Monday when they appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Williams’ attorney told the court, during an unsuccessful application for bail, that his client is a law-abiding citizen and that he had no previous conviction.
“At no point in time was Williams in possession of those implements,” he said.
But Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey was unmoved by the remarks.
“You and I know the three-soldier theory, and the police are opposing bail,” she said in denying bail.
The trio were remanded until February 4.
