Notice out of hospital, recovering well
MEDICAL doctor Raymoth Notice, who was released from hospital on Monday, has told the Jamaica Observer that he’s recovering well from the December gun attack at his home in Bog Walk, St Catherine.
“I’m recuperating well. There are some small challenges but within a few weeks’ time I’ll be up and fit,” Notice, a former mayor of Spanish Town, said in a telephone interview.
He said he’ll be undergoing physical therapy, but declined to speak about the December 21, 2015 attack at his home.
“He has passed the worst,” his sister Ruth, who was visiting from the United States, told the Observer on Tuesday.
Notice was released a day after the police announced on Tuesday the charging of two men for the attack that sent shock waves throughout the country.
The police didn’t release the names of Notice’s suspected attackers and hinted that others could soon be charged. The names were being withheld due to the continuing investigation into the incident.
The two have been charged with robbery with aggravation, wounding with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.
Shortly after Notice was released, the governing People’s National Party issued a press release wishing the doctor a speedy recovery.
“We wish him a speedy return to full health and to serving the community with the same vigour as he has in the past,” the release read.
It also “expressed gratitude to members of the medical fraternity who brought Dr Notice back to partial health”.
