With the hashtag #TeamShaggy4Kids floating all around social media last Saturday night, there was no doubt, the place to be was on the Lawns of Jamaica House for the fifth staging of the Shaggy and Friends 2016 benefit concert. Indeed, even Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller was in attendance, and made an impromptu appearance on stage to “settle the score” when Ity & Fancy Cat poked fun at her as part of their comedic set. Thousands of patrons streamed into the arena-styled venue, filled with WATA and CranWATA igloos, food stations stocked with scrumptious fare catered by some of our local culinary personalities; and libations aplenty (see more in the pages of Thursday Life). Thursday Social presents the third instalment of our Shaggy and Friends coverage.
