Guyana cops arrest suspects in British teen’s disappearance
GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – The police have held two suspects in connection with the disappearance of British teenager Dominic Michael Lloyd Bernard.
Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Senior Superintendent Wendell Blanhum told Demerara Waves Online News that Aaron Wilfred Hing, 22, was arrested at a city hotel at about 8:00 pm, local time on Friday.
Hing, who is 18-year old’s god-brother has admitted to his involvement in the disappearance of the teenager.
The police also arrested another man Stayman George, 23, early Saturday at a house in Georgetown.
Bernard has been missing since his arrival here from the United Kingdom in October, 2015.
Blanhum confirmed that a badly decomposed body was found a few villages away from where the teen was expected to stay during his visit in Guyana.
However, he could not confirm whether the remains are that of the teenager.
He said specimens of the decomposed body will be sent overseas for DNA testing to confirm the identity.
