JC PTA staging session on raising boys
Well-known and respected educator, motivational speaker and clergyman, Pastor Wesley Boynes, is scheduled to deliver a special presentation titled ‘Raising Boys’ today at the Jamaica College Parent-Teachers Association’s (PTA) first general meeting for 2016.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:00 pm inside the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College on Old Hope Road in Kingston.
“The focus on guiding young boys into manhood is a really important and extremely critical issue, and I am very happy to know that this is a priority at your school. A nation really cannot go beyond the development status of its men,” Pastor Wesley Boynes, chairman and founder of the Northgate Youth and Family Development Foundation, said in accepting the invitation.
Betty Stephenson-Ashley, a vice-president of the PTA, said that tomorrow’s transformation session is being held with the hope of providing some amount of guidance to parents on how to raise their boys.
“The first stage of the transformation begins in the home — and with the parents. It is against this background that we seek Pastor Boynes’ expertise and assistance in addressing parents,” said Stephenson-Ashley.
She is making a special appeal to parents and guardians of boys, especially JC parents, to attend the presentation.
