D Medz champions on
This is the third in a six-part series looking at artistes who had breakthrough songs in 2015. Do they have what it takes to follow up?
A LOT was expected of singjay D Medz’ debut EP, Empower, when it was released in late 2014. Champion, its lead song, gave the Clarendon artiste his breakthrough hit.

Champion has opened so many doors for me. First, it give me the love of Jamaican people; many people across the world have expressed their love for it,” said D Medz.

Champion was used in the Universal Negro Improvement Association’s campaign encouraging children to stay in school. It came five years after D Medz (real name Dwayne Adams) began recording professionally.

Rebel Souljah, another Fraser-produced single from Empower, is the follow-up to
Champion.No Vote, recorded by D Medz with general elections in the air, was released in December.
D Medz is scheduled to perform tomorrow at Rebel Salute.
