Faulkland seek second win in Senior League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Faulkland FC will be seeking a second win, while Montego Bay United Under-21 will be hoping to avoid a second straight loss when the two meet at Jarrett Park in a St James Football Association Sandals/ATL Senior League game starting at 3:30 pm today.
Faulkland FC, who were promoted to the Senior League last season after winning the Division One, have scored nine goals in their last two games, getting off to a winning start last Friday, spanking Violet Kickers 4-1 in their opening game.
In midweek they also beat another Senior League team , Heights FC, 5-2 in the semi-finals of the Captain’s Bakery and Grill Knockout and will be on a high coming into this game.
Montego Bay United Under-21, semi-finalists two seasons ago and just missing the last four a season ago, lost their first game, going down 0-1 to last season’s beaten finalists Melbourne FC.
There will be little secrets between the teams given they parade some of the top young players in the region, some of them being teammates at the daCosta Cup level.
Faulkland FC will, however, have the edge in terms of talent, led by two national Under-20 invitees Peter-Lee Vassell and Jourdaine Fletcher as well as Jason Malcolm.
Montego Bay United should have the likes of Leonardo Murray, Alrick Ottey, Kymanie Russell and Deshane Beckford.
