Two young J’can footballers sign with int’l agent
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Phoenix All Stars Football Academy products Leon Bailey and Kyle Butler were recently signed under international sports agent powerhouse, Doyen Global.
The announcement was made in a release by the agency’s Marketing Executive, Daniel Ullman on Thursday.
According to the release, Managing Director of Doyen Global, Matt Kay, says he is delighted to be working with two extremely gifted young players.
“Both boys are very focused on playing at the highest level. Leon has already proven that he is ready to play regular first team football and Kyle is not far behind,” Kay stated.
Bailey, who plays in the position of forward for Belgian football club, Koninklijke Racing Club (KRC) Genk, has already made 18 appearances in the Pro League season, scoring two goals.
Bailey is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in European football, and this signing marks a massive booster in the 18-year-old’s career.
Meanwhile, Butler recently signed a three year deal with the same football club, and will be a part of the reserve setup for the team.
Doyen Global was launched in April 2013 and operates across all areas of sports including talent management, acquisition of image rights and sales and brand consultancy. The sports firm has worked with international footballers such as Neymar Jr and Adan Janujaz, and has clients such as David Beckham, Calum Chambers and Xavi Alvaro Morata.
They will be visiting Jamaica in early February on a football talent scout, where the current professional football aspirants at Phoenix, will get the chance to display their talent and skills.
