Bodles tackle Albion in Division One second round
SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine — The top two in the St Catherine FA Division One competition return to action today following Wednesday’s duel in the mid-season final.
Albion FC reigned supreme in that battle, beating Marcus Garvey United 2-1 at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, and will now continue their quest for a place in the semi-finals.
They will play away to fifth-placed Bodles FC (11) in Bodles, knowing that a win over the Happy Sutherland Knockout finalists will consolidate their position at the top of the standings.
Albion currently lead the way on 17 points from eight games, just one point ahead of second-placed Marcus Garvey who will also be on the road to take on eighth-placed Windsor Lion (10) at the Windsor Oval.
The day’s other game pits Rodwood FC against Watson Grove FC at Waterford.
Rodwood sit five places and three points below fourth-placed Watson Grove (13 points), who could move up two places to second with a win, should results elsewhere go in their favour.
All games are scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm.
Meanwhile, beaten mid-season finalists Tru-Juice FC will also return to action today. They play away to former champions Frazsiers Whip at Frazers Content in one of two Major League match-ups.
Christian Pen host Portsmouth FC in the other encounter.
Both games will kick off at 3:30 pm.
