Sporting blank Bucknor for first Major League win
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Sporting Central Academy recorded their first win of the Clarendon FA/Clarendon Major League season after blanking Bucknor United 2-0 in Zone C action on Tuesday.
The relegated Premier League side had opened their campaign with two successive 1-1 results, but this victory has moved them to within two points of group leaders Original Hazard.
However, Original Hazard, on seven points, could reopen a five-point gap today should they beat Moores United (four points) in one of three mid-week games.
The other matches are Kemps Hill FC vs Black Stars FC in Kemps Hill and Lionel Town against New Bowens in Lionel Town.
Kick-off is 3:00 pm at all venues.
Meanwhile, title holders Jamalco FC extended their winning start to four games, following a 2-0 triumph at newcomers Savannah FC. Andrew Isaacs, with his fifth and sixth of the season, got both goals in the seventh and 80th minutes.
The victory moved Jamalco (12) six points clear of second-placed New Bowens in Zone B, while Savannah stayed just ahead of last-placed Treadlight FC on one point.
Also on Tuesday, York Town (four) and Comfort FC (three) played out a goalless draw in Zone A, which is being led by the unbeaten Four Paths FC on seven points.
