UPDATE: Police identify victims in St James fatal shooting
ST JAMES, Jamaica – The police are probing the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident in which three people were killed and two injured in the Meggie Top community of Salt Spring in St James on Tuesday.
Dead are: Sandrina Samuels, 18-year-old bartender of Comma Pen, St Elizabeth; 40-year-old Alphonso Foster, otherwise called ‘Gigsy’ or ‘Junior’, of Meggie Top in the parish; and 36-year-old Andre Barrett of Church Lane, also in the parish.
Reports are that about 11:30 pm, the five were at a bar in the area when armed men walked up and opened fire hitting them. The police were alerted and on their arrival, the victims were found with gunshot wounds.
They were taken hospital where three were pronounced dead and two admitted in serious condition.
