ONLINE READERS’ COMMENT – Walk carefully Prime Minister designate Holness
Dear Editor:
When I was told and then read for myself that Mr Holness was already meeting with government officials and that he had displayed your difference in governance by directing that all motor vehicles currently assigned to former ministers of government not be sold but be kept for future use, I was happy, very happy.
I am a retired civil servant who voted for the JLP mainly because of the tax plan which will release more funds to my grandchildren and fuel more growth in the economy.
But Mr Holness be careful that you follow the laws of the country. You cannot give a directive at this time. Much as I voted for the removal of Portia Simpson Miller, I proffer that according to law, she is still the Prime Minister of Jamaica in law. Until the reins are handed over to you by the Governor General, Simpson Miller is still our Prime Minister.
So yes, do your due diligence Mr Holness, be transparent, be different but within the law.
