Quality players available for Jamaica’s U-17 men team – Coach
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Andrew Edwards, head coach of Jamaica’s Under-17 men team, says the programme is ‘solid’ as they continue the preparation phase for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) round of the World Cup qualifiers.
Edwards, who has been scouting islandwide over the past few weeks, pointed out that the quality within the current 45-player pool will pose a challenge for coaches to select the final team.
This, he explained, augurs well for the programme as they seek to surpass the CFU round in July.
“I think we are on very solid ground in terms of the depth of talent available to us. I think all the positions on the field are well represented with good quality and it is now down to us coaches to do the very best we can with the resources available to us to prepare those players as best as possible and deliver on the objective that we have set for ourselves,” Edwards told OBSERVER ONLINE.
The team is scheduled to commence extensive preparation camps on Friday.
