Seeking My Dream again displays undeniable class
Wayne DaCosta, trainer of last year’s Supreme Ventures Limited, Diamond Mile winner and Horse of the Year, Seeking My Dream, says his charge is in fine fettle and ready for the top class following a flawless run in his seasonal appearance at Caymanas Park last Saturday.
Running in an Open Allowance event for three-year-olds and upward going over 1,500 metres, the Derrick Smith – owned Seeking My Dream (Seeking The Glory – Alsafra by Legal Process) proved too strong for his six rivals, romping home by an ever-increasing four lengths in a good time of 1:31:3 minutes.
“It was good performance by Seeking My Dream today (Saturday) and the time of 1:31:3 minutes was also good for seven and a half furlongs. He trained very well coming into the race, so we were always confident that he would get the job done,” DaCosta stated.
“There wasn’t any setbacks or anything like that affecting Seeking My Dream as he got a little rest after the Diamond Mile last December. He has shown great improvement and I think that he is ready for the top class now,” the champion trainer added.
Ridden by Omar Walker, Seeking My Dream sat off the pace in third position as stable companion All Correct (Robert Halledeen) and Campesino (Bebeto Harvey) dictated the early fractions leaving the 1,200-metre pole.
Last year’s Derby winner then carried Walker to the front b e f o re drawing away from the field at the top of the straight to win easily. The very consistent Campesino ran well for second place ahead of the fast-finishing Brawn (Aaron Chatrie) and All Correct.
