CONCACAF Champs: U-17 Girlz trail USA 1-2 at half-time

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Girlz was trailing USA 2-1 at half-time in their opening Group B fixture of the CONCACAF Women’s Championships here at the Grenada National Stadium on Friday.

Civana Kuhlmann opened the scoring for the US in the 16th minute and Shayla Smart pulled the Young Reggae Girlz level in the 32nd minute.

However the Americans went back in front courtesy of a beautiful strike from an angle by Ashley Sanchez in the 35th minute.

Earlier, the Group curtain-raiser was an exciting six-goal thriller as defending champions Mexico scored a 4-2 win over Costa Rico.
