Somerton seek to rebound in St James FA Div One League
Somerton FC will seek to rebound from their first setback of the season when they take on Bogue FC in their St James Football Association’s Division One return-round game at the Somerton field this afternoon.
Somerton FC had their seven-game win streak snapped last week when they were held 2-2 by Seaview FC, and will be hoping to start another long winning run this afternoon.
They had beaten promoted Bogue FC 1-0 away from home in the first round and will hope to maintain their perfect record at home against the second-placed Bogue FC team that had won their first three games.
Somerton leads Zone 2 with 19 points, six more than Seaview FC and Bogue FC, both on 13 each.
Also today, Salt Spring United could take over the lead in Zone 1 when they take on Paradise FC for the first time this season, at the UDC field.
The first-round game between the teams was not played and has been rescheduled; however, Salt Spring United, on 12 points, should win and move into first place above Revelation FC who are on 14 points.
At the Hilton Rose Hall field, Fire House who have cooled off since their hot start, will be seeking to beat Club Stars for the second time this season.
Club Stars are, however, ahead of Fire House in the tables, 11 to 10 points, but have also played one more game than the firemen.
