Larusa silences the Park
One could hear a pin drop at Caymanas Park on Wednesday after the running of the day’s seventh race.
After becoming accustomed to seeing favourites dominating the first six races, punters were suddenly silenced and brought back to the harsh reality that is horse racing when Larusa with Jerome Innis fended off all rivals to win at long odds of 95-1.
The first Pick-6 of the day (races 1-6) was easily spotted by numerous bettors and paid the not quite princely sum of $1,125.90.
Larusa, who provided trainer Rudolph Hardial with his first winner of the year, returned a whopping $4,813 for the win and $318 to place.
It was little wonder then that the second Pick-6 was not caught and now carries an attractive carryover of $3,820,822.68. So too the Pick-9 found punters wanting and now has a carryover of $2,708,382 going into tomorrow’s programme.
