Adeeno, Kimo Jeepaz get Eye Opener
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Eye Opener, a dancehall beat created by Kaeczar Music Group out of Washington DC, will be released today.
It features several emerging acts, including deejays Adeeno and Kimo Jeepaz.
The latter’s real name is Okeme Stewart. Originally from Bull Bay, he currently resides in England, where he is a senior at Nottingham Trent University.
His song on the Eye Opener is Don’t Do It.
“It was inspired by a girl who tries to meet a challenge that she knows she’s not capable of meeting,” said Kimo Jeepaz.
In between studies, the 22-year-old artiste is preparing to release his EP Pree My Life, as well as a mix tape called Kimo Therapy through Kaeczar Music Group.
He will also be opening act for deejay Erup’s July 30-August 11 Caribbean tour.
Adeeno’s song on the Eye Opener is Up Back. Previously, he got favourable response in Africa with Puff Puff Pass and Rave and Drink.
From Kingston, Adeeno says things are looking up for his career after early challenges.
“It has been a bittersweet one but I love the creative side of the business. Balancing daily life with such a tedious profession can be a bit difficult at times,” he told the OBSERVER ONLINE.
Other artistes on the Eye Opener are Cyba (with Lock Off); Epsword (One More); Love Spell by Erup; Money Mission by Gal-X; and More The Merrier by Vybrant.
