Weekly Round-up: New gov’t sworn in.. Teacher’s body found… J’can sues Trump’s agency
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The 18-member Cabinet of Prime Minister Andrew Holness was on Monday sworn in to govern 14 full ministries.
While on Thursday with the resumption of Parliament, 61 of the 63 members of Parliament, a house speaker and president of the Senate were sworn in.
Senator Tom Tavares Finson and veteran MP Pearnel Charles were elected and sworn in as President of the Senate and House Speaker respectively.
On the crime scene, the decomposing body of a St James High School teacher was discovered at his Trelawny home on Wednesday.
A reliable source revealed that among the things removed from the house was a note that read:”I killed him because he tried to rape me”.
Then shortly after midday, a 41-year-old woman was reportedly shot dead by her estranged husband after mutual accusations of infidelity.
Later that afternoon, three men were killed at a cook shop in Norwood, St James, in a brazen shooting attack, which the police say stemmed from a dispute over a cellular phone.
Foreign media are reporting that a Jamaican model has filed a lawsuit against Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s modelling agency.
