Cop shot in MoBay
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force was shot and injured during a shootout with a group of gunmen in Montego Bay last night.
One of the gunmen was also shot and injured during the confrontation.
Reports are that about 8:00pm the police responded to a robbery at the Old Shoes Market at the intersection of Creek and St James streets.
Upon arrival one of the lawmen was shot as the police party came under gunfire. The fire was returned and one of the gunmen was later found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was admitted under police guard.
The Independent Commission of Investigation has commenced their probe into the shooting.
