Catherine Hall seek to bounce back in St James Senior League
Leaders Catherine Hall will be looking to avenge their first round loss to Tomorrow’s People when the two teams meet in a St James Football Association’s Sandals/ATL Senior League game at the Bickersteth Community Centre on Saturday, starting at 3:30pm.
Tomorrow’s People had won the first round game 3-1, but trail Catherine Hall in the points tables 20-18. Tomorrow’s People, however, have played two games fewer.
Also on Saturday, Faulkland FC are expected to return to action after a two-week break, when they play Montego Bay United Under-21 at Albion, while Melbourne FC and Seba FC will meet at the UDC field.
Tomorrow’s People are coming off a surprise loss to Lilliput Rovers last weekend — their first of the season — and will be eager to get back to winning ways. A win would take them ahead of Catherine Hall in Zone 2.
Catherine Hall are having a much more improved season over last year, winning six of their nine games played so far, and will not be pushovers.
Faulkland FC were stung 1-0 by Melbourne FC in their return round game, their first loss in three years in the regular season, and will have the edge over MBU Under- 21, whom they hammered 4-1 in the first round.
Melbourne FC were surprisingly held 1-1 by winless Violet Kickers 1-0 on Friday, but should rebound against Seba FC at the UDC field.
On Tuesday, Heights FC continued their improvement with a 3-2 win over Lilliput Rovers at the UDC field to move ahead of the losers in the Zone 2 points tables.
Marl Road also had their second win over Violet Kickers, Owen Hacker scoring twice, as they ran out to a 3-0 victory with Ramone Stewart, also scoring.
Meanwhile, Mountain Villa came from an early goal down to draw 1-1 with Norwood Strikers at Albion.
Keneil Woodstock gave Norwood the lead in the fourth minute, while Davian Williams earned a point for Mountain Village in the 60th minute.
