Alligator Pond clip Belair in Manchester U-17
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Alligator Pond recorded their first win in the Manchester FA/Moorland Development/Pat Anderson Under-17 competition following a 2-1 victory over Belair Academy on Tuesday at Downs.
Adam Griffiths gave Alligator Pond the lead in the 43rd minute, before Sydon McDonald doubled their advantage in the 60th minute.
Belair reduced the deficit six minutes later through Matthew Northover, but could not not find the equaliser.
With the victory, Alligator Pond improved their tally to four points from two games, while Belair were suffering their second successive defeat, following a 5-0 whipping from Downs FC on opening day.
Comfort FC and Technical Strikers are also without a victory after both sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Kirkvine Sports Club.
Rahjan Walcott opened the scoring for Technical Strikers in minute 36, but Comfort would secure their second successive draw when Jahdico Marshall fired home the equaliser in the 52nd minute.
In the day’s other game, defending champions Hillstars FC were held to a goalless draw by 360° Youth Academy.
It was the second successive 0-0 result for the Courtney Jackson-coached 360° outfit, while Hillstars were dropping points for the first time after starting their title defence with a 2-0 win over Mile Gully.
