Afghanistan beat West Indies by six runs
NAGPUR, India – Afghanistan downed the powerful West Indies by six runs in a thrilling World Twenty20 match in Nagpur on Sunday, handing the determined underdogs a consolation victory.
Afghanistan, who lost three straight matches in the Super 10s and have failed to make the semi-finals, made a respectable 123/7 after being sent in to bat.
The West Indies, who have already qualified for the final four and finished top of their group, failed to chase down the total in the face of some excellent Afghanistan spin bowling and fielding.
