Heaven defeats Harris at JCA polls, stays as president

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Wilford “Billy” Heaven has retained the post of Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) president after defeating challenger Fritz Harris during this afternoon’s elections at the annual general meeting held at the Jamaica Conference Centre.

Director of JCA elections Major Neil Lewis told the media a short while ago that Heaven had the vote of 52 delegates. Harris, who was honorary secretary during Heaven’s previous two-year tenure, pulled in 47 votes.

Lewis said the voting process was “extremely” smooth.
