Porus FC stay perfect in Manchester U-17
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — Porus FC maintained their 100 per cent start to the Manchester FA/Moorland Development/Pat Anderson Under-17 competition following a 3-0 victory at Greenvale United on Wednesday.
Alwin Strachan gave Porus the lead in the 17th minute before late goals from Kashane Johnson and Al-Jermaine Ford gave the central Manchester side their third win in as many games.
They have now scored 16 goals, while conceding one, to occupy top spot in Zone Three courtesy of a superior goal difference. Ricam Academy also have nine points, but are ranked second due to an inferior goal difference.
Villa United drubbed Mandeville United 6-0 to stay within touching distance of the top two on six points.
Mushtaq Christopher led the way for Villa with a hat-trick, scoring in the 37th, 48th and 55th minutes. Denroy Miller, Sabian Pusey and Antonio Ward got the other goals.
Hillstars FC, on five points, continue to lead Zone One despite dropping points for the second-successive game. They were held goalless by Christiana Academy in their latest fixture.
The defending champions are three points ahead of joint second-placed teams Comfort FC and 360° Youth Football Academy who have both played a game less.
Downs FC top Zone Two with six points, two ahead of Alligator Pond.
